Jacob Damkani was born in Persia of Shephardim Jewish descent. His family immigrated to Israel in his youth. Jacob's long journey from a small town in Israel to opening a gift shop in New Jersey is quite eventful.
Still, Jacob's story is quite powerful. He comes across as honest and candid. This book is not an easy read. He needed an editor since he is not a writer. Some readers will disagree at times. I disliked the hostility at first towards Gentiles or Non-Jews. I personally find Gentile to be an unkind unnecessary word to describe us.
